| It is rare that you get an order for a guitar that you really, really want to make! Well, this was one of those dream guitars.
When it comes to guitar building this is one of the most challenging styles. The top is selected sitka spruce hand carved inside and out; the back and sides are from high-grade flamed 'red' maple while the neck is laminated rock maple. |

This 400mm (16") wide archtop has a focussed yet rich tone with a surprising acoustic projection. The Bartolini pickup provides a clean, even tone when amplified.
It's the most expensive guitar I make but takes over twice the man hours of the others. To some extent instruments like these are a labour of love... that is until you hear them played by a great guitarist - then all that work seems worthwhile. |
